Since I have a number of readers who aren't horror fans, I figured a fun post (for me, at least) would be to show the many unmasked faces of Jason Voorhees, from the "Friday the 13th" series of films.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So many know him casually, as just the hockey masked killer seen here:
But, in (almost) every film, there would be a moment where Jason would lose his mask, revealing the horrible, scarred, nearly-destroyed visage beneath.
Enjoy! ;)
Friday the 13th (1980)
Face only a mother could love, eh?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)
This is backwoods Jason. No wonder why he wears the burlap sack in this movie!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friday the 13th Part III (1982)
Okay, pull the hockey mask back down, Jason. Please!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friday the 13th The Final Chapter (1984)
And, if you can believe it, he ends this movie looking MUCH WORSE!

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)
Hey, that's not Jason! Yeah, in Part V, Jason is dead, and someone impersonates him to get Jason blamed for his murders. Doesn't turn out well, for anyone.

Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (1986)
Revived, zombie-Jason's first appearance.
Since the shot of his face isn't very detailed, here is a mask that someone made based on his look in this film:
Thanks to jasonsfury at the Friday the 13th Blog for this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988)
Jason is pissed here, dealing with the Carrie-like Tina and her telekinesis!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
Ugh - Jason has seen better days. This face sums up the feel of this movie, really.

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993)
Jason actually goes from body to body in this flick. Here are some of the faces he "wears":
First, the coroner becomes Jason.
Then, a cop named Josh, who is shaved by coroner-Jason in a weird scene.
Next is Robert, the sleazy TV-tabloid reporter. Steven Culp played Robert, and later played Bree's first husband on "Desperate Housewives".
Then to Randy, another cop. He was played by the director's brother.
And lastly, into the body of Diana, Jason's dead sister. Yes, she was played by Erin Gray, of Buck Rogers and Silver Spoons fame.
Diana being a blood relative lets Jason become Jason once more.

Jason X (2001)
Hey, you try looking good after being a multi-murdered, frozen-for-centuries-then-revived undead killer!
Jason gets fixed up by future nanotechnology in this flick:
Uber-Jason!

Freddy vs. Jason (2003)
Again, not a great shot of his face, so here is a mask made at the time of the film:
One of the characters has to attempt to give him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation! I am not kidding!

Friday the 13th (2009)
The 'new' Jason looks quite unhappy. His face looks like it hurts!!! Ow...
There was also a deleted scene of young Jason in this flick:
Cute, in a sort of demented-gnome-like way!

Hope you all have a great day!

good greif! great post!!
ReplyDeletethis must have taken forever to put together. thanks for the dilegence!
I see now why Jason killed all those people. It was the teasing he got for being the class freak. Someone should have realized early that ugly serial killers need the MOST love.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't get any prettier does he?
ReplyDeleteAwesome post! Great idea. Poor Jason. That face gives him every right to do what he does. :P
ReplyDeletei bet he gets pissed just looking in the mirror each day...
ReplyDeleteThe second one looks like Eric Stoltz?? Is it?
ReplyDeleteI wish I had thought to not check this out before noon! Ugh - just so not pretty...I love the quips though. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat blog post with so many disturbing visuals...ha! Friday the 13th is the one film that ruined me for Horror films for the rest of my life. I snuck into this movie as a young tween and I was so scared when I got home that night that I laid in my bed for hours trying to muster the courage to run down the hall to my parents room. I FINALLY did though, and I slept at the foot of their bed the rest of the night. Needless to say, they knew I'd not seen a PG movie that night! I never really wanted to see another horror movie that scared me after that. My imagination is way too overactive as it is. Silence of the Lambs was more my speed. :o)
ReplyDeleteI think Jason would look scarier if Michael Moore played him.
ReplyDeleteMWAH HA HA HA HA...
