Believe it or not, but I had a major crush on Genie Francis back in '81. I was devastated when they killed her character off a few years later. It made no sense..
ReplyDeleteActually, she wanted to leave so they had to write Laura out, since Luke was sticking around. They convinced her to come back for a short stay about two years later, when Tony Geary decided to leave and they then left together, alive. Geary came back in the very early 90s as Luke's cousin, then him and Genie both returned as Luke and Laura in '93. Geary has been on, barring vacations, ever since. Genie has come and gone, but since 2003, she has only made guest appearances for short visits. She is on The Young & the Restless now.
